Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital seeks a full-time, experienced physician assistant (PA‑C) or nurse practitioner (APRN) to join the cardiothoracic surgery and transplant team. The successful candidate will assist in various CVOR cases and handle critical patient responsibilities.

The role demands surgical first assist experience and certification, providing an excellent opportunity to practice at the top of the candidate’s scope.

Qualifications

• Must be board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Must hold or be able to obtain an active Florida license prior to start.
• Surgical first assist experience is required.
• Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH) experience is required.

Responsibilities

• First assist in all CVOR cases including CABG and heart transplantation.
• Inpatient rounding in the ICU and floors.
• Consult clinic duties and patient education.

Job Summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a full-time, experienced physician assistant (PA‑C) or nurse practitioner (APRN) to join our cardiothoracic surgery and transplant/MCS team at Florida Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery in Largo, FL.

Description

APP will be responsible for first assisting in all CVOR cases (including CABG, valve repair and replacements, aortic surgery, LVAD, heart transplantation, impella, ECMO, thoracic procedures, EVH/ERAH, chest closure), inpatient rounding in the ICU and floors, consult clinic duties, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Our practice sees a wide variety of pathologies and has a high acuity patient census. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA/NP interested in practicing at the top of their scope.

Qualified Candidates

• Must be board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• Must hold or be able to obtain an active Florida license prior to start
• Surgical first assist experience is required
• Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH) experience is required
• Experience in advanced heart failure (LVAD, impella, ECMO, heart transplant) is a plus
• Call includes rotating weekday and one weekend per month
