Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic Stepdown unit to deliver high-acuity, post-surgical care for cardiothoracic patients. The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma and valid NC RN licensure, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• All RNs without a Bachelor's degree are encouraged to enroll in BSN within two years but must complete BSN within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Assist other healthcare personnel in patient care delivery.
• Participate in care environment maintenance and resource organization.
• Participate in professional development and competency maintenance.
• Support development of staff and learners.
• Identify and participate in performance improvement opportunities.
• Perform other duties incidental to the work.
