Job summary

Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists in Decatur, GA seeks a Veterinary Technician to join the Cardiology team. You will collaborate with the cardiologist and hospital staff to deliver exceptional care for patients with cardiac disease, participate in diagnostics, and support on outpatient and inpatient cases.

Ideal candidates are skilled in phlebotomy, ECG/Holter, radiography, and patient monitoring, with a strong teamwork mindset and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Working understanding of common cardiac diagnostics, diseases, and treatments

Responsibilities

• Support cardiologist to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients
• Assist cardiologist and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow
• Assist with procedures in accordance with Georgia's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on care, at-home monitoring, medications, and additional treatments, as well as perform and document follow-up communication
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients, and maintain medical charts
• Assist in acquiring medical records from referring veterinarians, as well as placing referrals to tertiary hospitals (for procedures not performed at Saint Francis)
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs
• 6- and 12- lead ECG in house
• Holter system application (fitting patient with leads, advising owners on activity logs, removing Holter, and uploading report into ezyVet (medical records software)
