Job summary

UPMC Passavant is seeking a Full-Time Cardiology Technician II to support the Diagnostic Cardiology department. The role focuses on obtaining EKGs, monitoring with Holter devices, and assisting with stress testing while ensuring accurate documentation and patient-centered care.

Shifts total 40 hours per week, with 10-hour weekday shifts and 8-hour weekend shifts. Rate of pay varies by qualifications and education.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality EKGs while following hospital and patient care protocols.
• Apply Holter, Flex, event, and other cardiac monitors and maintain related equipment.
• Assist with exercise stress testing and evaluate EKG rhythms on Holter recordings.
• Accurately recognize and document patient information related to care.
• Utilize cardiology information systems to maintain accurate reports, statistics, and patient information.
• Complete cardiology service reports and daily transcriptions.
• Provide individualized, patient-focused care.

Position: Full-Time Cardiology Technician II
Department: Diagnostic Cardiology
Location: UPMC Passavant
Shifts: 40 hours per week, 10 hour weekday shifts and 8 hour weekend shifts. Will work every other weekend, plus July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holidays.

Title and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education.

• Cardiology Technician starting rate: $19.39/hour
• Cardiology Technician II starting rate: $19.67/hour

Responsibilities:

• Obtain quality EKGs while following hospital and patient care protocols.
• Apply Holter, Flex, event, and other cardiac monitors and maintain related equipment.
• Assist with exercise stress testing and evaluate EKG rhythms on Holter recordings.
• Accurately recognize and document patient information related to care.
• Utilize cardiology and information systems to maintain accurate reports, statistics, and patient information.
• Complete cardiology service reports and daily transcriptions.
• Support both Diagnostic Cardiology and Central Monitoring based on departmental needs.
• Assist with student teaching and orientation.
• Perform light clerical and front-desk duties as needed.
• Maintain equipment and supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Provide individualized, patient-focused care.
• Take responsibility for ongoing professional and performance development.
