Job summary

Penn State Health in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with order entry and the distribution of drug products under supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining the inventory and ensuring proper accounting for drug supplies.

Summary of Position

Provides assistance with the order entry preparation and distribution of drug products under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Maintains appropriate inventory of drug supplies and a system of control to ensure the integrity of the purchases, control of supplies and proper accounting for their distribution.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.


• Six (6) months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy with an educational background in medical terminology and computer use required OR graduate of a formalized Pharmacy Technician Training Program with a minimum of 120 hours in an externship program required.


• Ability to get certified from PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certified Boards) required within six (6) months.
