Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care in the Cardiology Stepdown unit. In collaboration with physicians, you will provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients.

The role requires a BSN (or enrollment with intent to obtain within 5 years), NC RN license (eNLC may apply), BLS, and preferably 1 year hospital experience; a strong commitment to safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; BSN within 5 years of hire may be accepted with grandfathering.
• Masters in Nursing preferred
• Active RN license with NC Board of Nursing; eNLC may apply
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred
• One year hospital nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, noting changes.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document administration of care promptly and accurately in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients
