HCA Healthcare, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse Cardio-Vascular specialist to provide comprehensive nursing care for clinic patients in the cardiac domain.

This role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with cardiology specialists, and adherence to ACC/AHA guidelines. You will perform and interpret cardiac tests, educate patients on heart health, participate in clinical trials as needed, and coordinate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes for each

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing.
• Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience in acute care or cardiology clinic.
• BLS required upon hire; ACLS required within 60 days of hire.
• Current unrestricted RN license per state regulations.
• Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) preferred OR Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification (CV-BC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates on interdisciplinary care teams for cardiac-vascular conditions.
• Interprets data and responds to urgent situations to optimize patient care.
• Performs and interprets cardiac and vascular labs.
• Collaborates with cardiologists, surgeons, electrophysiologists and other physicians.
• Participates in clinical trials and research programs as needed.
• Documents entries in the medical record in a legible, concise manner.
• Prepares patients for visits and procedures as required.
• Educates patients on cardiovascular diseases and preventive measures.
• Assists in diagnostic tests such as ECGs/EKGs.
• Performs Holter and Event monitor initiations.
• Interacts with patients and families pre- and post-treatment.
• Monitors vitals, especially cardiovascular readings.
• Knowledge of ACC/AHA heart failure guidelines.
• Provides general nursing care for office treatment as needed.
• Handles phone triage and referrals of incoming calls.
• Posts test results and examination findings.
• Administers medications per physician orders.
