Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, holistic cardiology care under physician guidance. You will assess, treat, educate, and coordinate care for cardiology patients, ensuring safe clinical practices.

You will perform assessments, stress testing, EKG monitoring, and administer medications while documenting progress in the EMR/EHR and collaborating with the care team to promote optimal outcomes and patient education.

Qualifications

• RN license required and current in Louisiana
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred: cardiology/cardiovascular nursing certification and 2 years critical care experience

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care including assessments, stress testing, EKG monitoring and medication administration.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team during rounds to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document clinical findings, progress notes, and patient information in the EMR/EHR.
• Educate patients and families, advocating for their needs and values.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and community wellness efforts.
