HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Cardiology Registered Nurse for St. Davids Cardiology in Austin, TX. The RN provides professional care for clinic patients with advanced cardiac nursing knowledge and leadership in planning care.

You will work with cardiologists and other specialists, perform ECG/EKG tests, monitor vitals, and educate patients on cardiovascular health. ACLS/BLS as required and state RN licensure are prerequisites.

Formación

• RN program graduate and state-licensed registered nurse.
• Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience in acute care or cardiology clinic.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS within 60 days of hire.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse Cardiology- Vascular provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. The RN cardio- vascul ar nurse possesses advanced knowledge and skill in cardiac nursing. Also, they will need to demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipation and planning for the care of the patient.

What you will do in this role:

• Participates as part of an interdisciplinary care team in the treatment of cardiac – vascular conditions such as heart failure, heart valve disorders, high blood pressure, vascular disorders, heart attack and arrythmia
• Interprets data and responds to urgent situations in a way that optimizes patient care and produces positive outcomes.
• Performs and interprets various cardiac and vascular lab tests
• Works closely with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other physicians in the care and treatment of full range of cardiovascular conditions
• Participates in clinical trials and clinical research programs as per clinic needs
• Documents legible and concise entries in the medical record.
• Performs appropriate patient preparation for each visit and/or procedure.
• Educates patients on cardiovascular diseases, including but not limited to preventive measures
• Assists in performing diagnostic tests such as ECG’s, EKG’s
• Initiatives Holter and Event monitors
• Interacts with the patients as well as their families pre and post treatment
• Monitors the patient and their vitals, especially cardiovascular readings
• Possesses knowledge of ACC/AHA guidelines related to heart failure
• Provides general nursing care to patients as necessary for office treatment.
• Responds to and refers to incoming telephone calls.
• Posts tests and examination results.
• Administers medications in accordance with physician orders.

What Qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience in an acute care or cardiology clinic setting required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS required within 60 days of hire
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations
• Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) through American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN) preferred OR
• Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification (CV-BC) through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) preferred
