Position Overview

The Department of Cardiology at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan is recruiting a full-time Heart Failure Cardiology Specialist. As an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist, you will be a key member of a developing team, providing high-quality HF care via inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, and procedural work including right heart cath, vasodilator studies, pulmonary artery sensor implantation, and endomyocardial biopsy. Participation in other procedures such as left heart work and imaging studies may be discussed based on training and skills. Interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach are mandatory. APP support is available. Shared care for VAD and transplant patients is under development, with the goal of becoming a VAD implanting center. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to program development under experienced leadership at a respected cardiovascular institution.

  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient HF services, with plans to develop dedicated inpatient HF and LVAD programs.
  • Perform procedures including right heart catheterization, vasodilator studies, pulmonary artery sensor implantation, and endomyocardial biopsy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and system-wide, including with the advanced heart failure program at Corewell Health West.
  • Involve in education and mentoring of cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Engage in clinical research to advance the field of advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support.

  • BC/BE in general cardiology and in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology.
  • Passion for education, research, and mentorship.
  • Unrestricted Michigan MD/DO license and DEA license.

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, established in 1955, is a major academic and referral center with over 1,100 beds, Level I adult trauma, and Level II pediatric trauma designations. It offers 43 residency and fellowship programs, with a faculty of over 1,400 doctors affiliated with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
