Job summary

WVU Heart & Vascular Institute in Parkersburg, WV is recruiting non-invasive cardiologists at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor levels to join our faculty. Faculty duties include patient care, teaching students and residents, and participation in clinical research.

Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be eligible for a West Virginia medical license, and be board certified in internal medicine with certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease; imaging certifications

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license.
  • Board certification in internal medicine and board certification or eligibility in cardiovascular disease.
  • Additional certification/intent to certify in imaging modalities such as echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT and/or MRI.
  • Active involvement in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; opportunities in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-invasive cardiology services at WVU Heart & Vascular Institute; multi-site engagement may be required.
  • Participate in teaching of medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows.
  • Contribute to clinical research and scholarly activities.

Job description

The WVU School of Medicine and the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute seek non-invasive cardiologists (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) for faculty positions in Parkersburg, WV.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Candidates must be board certified in internal medicine and board certified or eligible in cardiovascular disease with additional certification or intent to certify in imaging modalities such as echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT and/or MRI. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidates will be actively involved in teaching medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows. Opportunities also exist in clinical research.
