New Cardiology (Non-Interventional) Opportunity in Northern Indiana - Between Detroit & Chicago

Practice Opportunity Profile: Cardiology (Non-interventional)

Practice Description:

1. Seeking General Cardiologist, noninvasive or invasive.
2. Great opportunity to replace a very busy non-interventional cardiologist who is retiring. (Can have full clinic from day 1, if desired).
3. This is a multispecialty practice with built-in referral base from primary care colleagues.
4. Provides a great deal of autonomy.
5. Research opportunities.
6. Coverage for one local hospital only.
7. Great Midwestern town to raise a family, close to Chicago, Grand Rapids, Notre Dame, Indiana Dunes National Park.

Area Description:

Located just 2 miles south of the Michigan border, it is a family-friendly community with recreational activities for every season, from water skiing in summer to snow skiing in winter. Chicago, Indianapolis, National Park, and Lake Michigan are short drives away, with the University of Notre Dame's campus nearby. The county's population is 205,000, offering 7 public school systems and over 50 private schools. Qualifications/Training:

Board certified (or eligible) in Cardiovascular Disease with fellowship training at a U.S. medical center within the last 5 years.

Caseload:

Average of 15-20 patients per office day, including 4-5 stress tests.

Work Schedule:

Usually three full days per week in the office.

Call Rotation:

1 in 3 for general cardiology.

Salary Range:

$400,000 to $500,000, based on experience.

Existing Physicians in the Area:

• 2 interventional cardiologists at the clinic.
• Another cardiology group at General Hospital.

Practice Environment:

• Three exam rooms per physician.
• Two echocardiography rooms, two stress testing rooms.
• In-clinic nuclear medicine lab with CardioMD camera.
• Holter monitors, event recorders, EKG machine, pacer programmers.
• Staff includes two echo technicians, nuclear medicine technician, experienced RN, LPN, reception staff.
• Cerner EMR used at both clinic and hospital.

Hospital Environment:

• Single community hospital with 270 beds.
• Offers all cardiac services: PCI, TAVR, CABG, EP.
• Performs over 300 open-heart surgeries annually.
• Three cardiac catheterization labs.
• 24-bed ICU managed by intensivists.
• Nine operating rooms.
