Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Cardiology on a weekend PRN schedule. Under the direction of a Cardiologist, the technologist performs nuclear medicine procedures requiring independent judgement, using radionuclides for diagnosis, across age groups from newborn to elderly.

Minimum qualifications include ARRT or NMTCB certification and BLS for Cardiology, with an Associate degree or equivalent and graduation from an ARRT/NMTCB

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited ARRT or NMTCB program.
• Current ARRT or NMTCB certification/registry eligible within 12 months from date of hire; BLS certification for Cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiographic equipment per specifications; follow infection control and safety practices.
• Follow Radiation Safety Committee quality techniques and safety standards.
• Produce quality scintigrams and maintain processors; document patient information in EMR.
• Assess patient before exam, prep and educate; coordinate with Imaging or Cardiology staff.
• Consent patient and prepare IV access; record all data accurately.
