Job summary

MemorialCare’s Nurse Practitioner (NP-S) in Cardiology, based in Long Beach, CA, joins a per-diem night shift to independently examine, diagnose, and treat patients in collaboration with supervising physicians.

You will provide direct and indirect patient care, coordinate treatment plans, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement activities, and support a seamless continuum of care across inpatient and outpatient settings, with shift differentials possible.

Qualifications

Licensed RN in California
Certified Nurse Practitioner in California
Furnishing license in CA
DEA license for controlled substances (Schedule II required if prescribing)
ABSNC-certified NP
BLS certification
ACLS and/or PALS as department requires
NPI and PECOS enrollment within 90 days
ATLS within 8 months of hire

Responsibilities

Independently examines, diagnoses, and treats patients under approved procedures.
Coordinate care with supervising physicians and healthcare team.
Provide patient and family education and document in teaching plan.
Ensure accurate problem lists and medication reconciliation.
Support discharge planning and seamless hospital-to-outpatient transitions.
Participate in quality improvement activities and peer review.
