Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Longview, TX is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Inpatient Cardiology team for overnight coverage. You will manage admitted cardiology patients, collaborate with cardiology colleagues, and perform admissions, consultations, and follow-ups.

Ideal candidates hold a Texas NP/PA license with board certification and inpatient cardiovascular experience, and are comfortable with night shifts in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Texas NP or PA license.
• Board certification in relevant Nursing or Physician Assistant field.
• Inpatient cardiology or critical care experience preferred.
• Willingness to work overnight shifts and adapt to hospital routines.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
• Perform overnight admissions, consultations, and follow-up evaluations.
• Collaborate with cardiologists on patient management and treatment plans.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, EKGs and other diagnostics.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and provide timely interventions.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
