Job description

The Cardiologist will diagnose and treat various cardiovascular ailments or diseases, such as heart attacks and coronary heart disease. Cardiologists may focus in one or more cardiology specializations, such as echocardiography, electrophysiology, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology. Outpatient cardiac care only.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides the best possible care to the patients.
2. Dedicated and willing to continue education to stay current with new technologies and medicines to provide patients with the best options for them individually.
3. Examines the patient and runs tests needed to determine the exact cause of their problems.
4. Responsible for running and accurately reading tests such as ECG or EKG, chest X-rays, and ultrasounds. Knowledge of which blood tests to order for specific heart conditions is essential.
5. Finds the best treatment for each patient, considering their unique needs, even when they share the same medical condition.
6. Prescribes medications or recommends surgeries as appropriate, explaining the reasons and expected benefits to patients.
7. Educates patients on maintaining a healthy heart and the importance of treatment plans.

Other responsibilities may include:

• Performing tests accurately to avoid harm.
• Following up with patients post-treatment, adjusting care plans as needed to promote healthier lifestyles.
• Other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Deep understanding of the human heart and related illnesses.
• Extensive knowledge of modern equipment and medications for heart disease.
• Ability to perform and interpret specialized tests and procedures.
• Responsibility and confidence in emergency decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accurate diagnosis and patient consultation skills.
• Compassion, self-motivation, and endurance for long hours.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing research.
• Fluency in English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
