Job description

The Cardiologist will diagnose and treat various cardiovascular ailments or diseases, such as heart attacks and coronary heart disease. Cardiologists may focus in one or more cardiology specializations, such as echocardiography, electrophysiology, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology. Outpatient cardiac care only.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide the best possible care to patients.
  • Dedicate yourself to continuing education to stay current with new technologies and medicines, ensuring the best options for patients.
  • Examine patients and run tests needed to determine the cause of their problems.
  • Perform and interpret tests such as ECG or EKG, chest X-rays, ultrasound, and blood tests relevant to heart diseases.
  • Find the best treatment for each patient, considering individual differences, even when conditions are similar.
  • Prescribe medications or recommend surgeries as appropriate, explaining the reasons and benefits to patients.
  • Discuss steps to maintain and improve heart health, emphasizing patient education and self-care.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Perform tests accurately to avoid harm.
  • Follow up with patients post-tests or procedures, adjusting care plans as needed to promote healthier lifestyles.

Other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Mastery of concepts related to the human heart and its illnesses.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern equipment and medications for heart disease.
  • Ability to perform and interpret specialized tests and procedures.
  • High responsibility level and decision-making confidence in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence and sound knowledge for accurate diagnosis and patient consultation.
  • Compassion, self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure for long hours.
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing research.
  • Fluency in English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
