Job summary

Virginia Heart is seeking friendly, dependable Medical Assistants to provide day-to-day clinical and administrative support in our outpatient cardiology offices. You will perform vitals, EMR data entry, patient education, and ensure smooth patient flow with excellent customer service.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant Certification preferred, and prior medical office experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Experience in a medical office with both administrative and clinical tasks is required.
• Must be computer literate and proficient with EMR systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Prior EMR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical administrative tasks such as phone screening, appointment confirmation, orders management, and data entry into the EMR.
• Create and update patient demographics and clinical information in the EMR as needed.
• Take patients from waiting room, perform vitals, and prepare them for provider visits, updating medical history as part of intake.
• Assist clinicians with patients in the office, including chart preparation and collecting necessary documents.
• Provide patient education and address clinical questions as appropriate.
• Notify patients of test results per protocol and manage calls and transfers.
