Job summary

Advocate Health in the Carolinas is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Cardiology department in Cornelius. The role supports providers with rooming patients, taking vitals, medication reconciliation, and basic CLIA-waived testing, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a sign-on bonus eligibility based on program criteria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certificate or training in Medical Assistant tasks is preferred.
• Experience with patient rooming, vital signs, and basic screening preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks including vitals, med reconciliation, history, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per protocols.
• Handles administrative tasks like scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging.
• Cross-trained for other duties within clinic practice.
