Job summary

Olathe Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the SW KC Market Cardiology Clinic at Olathe Hospital. The role focuses on ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting with examinations, preparing patients for visits, and maintaining clinical and administrative records.

Responsibilities include scheduling, clerical duties, basic clinical procedures, and patient data entry, with an emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered care. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School graduate required.
• 1+ years MA experience OR graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR MA Certification (CCMA or NRCMA).
• BLS certification (AHA) within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests, obtains films/reports, and prepares lab specimens as per policy.
• Assists physicians/nurses with procedures and exams as per competency checklist.
• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate patient care and records elements of patient history as needed.
• Submits prescriptions and refills electronically or by fax to outpatient pharmacies.
• Ensures data for completed procedures is recorded in medical records and logs are updated.
• Maintains orderly, clean exam rooms and stocks supplies, logs refrigerator and crash cart checks.
• Performs clerical duties: greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests, insurance forms, and billing entries.
• Performs basic procedures as directed and documents vital signs (height/weight) in the medical record.
