Job summary

Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology clinic at Greenspring Station. You will prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, and assist physicians during patient visits.

Required: High School diploma or GED and Medical Assistant certification/registration. If not certified, certification must be obtained within 180 days. EPIC experience preferred; typical duties from the department are listed above.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or graduation equivalent.
• Certification/registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required.
• If not currently certified/registered, must become certified/registered within 180 days (6 months) of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete Medicare Wellness Questionnaire and other questionnaires in EPIC.
• Assist Clinical RN with ED discharge calls when necessary.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Take and record vital signs and document data in Epic.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures and chaperone for sensitive exams.
