Inova Health Cardiology in Mt. Vernon is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 2 to join the team. This PRN, day-shift position runs Monday through Friday, supporting patient flow and clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of clinical practice experience required.
• BLS certification and CMA certification required on start.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and manage patient flow; record vitals and assist with exams.
• Assist physicians and nurses; perform phlebotomy, injections and basic patient care.
• Prepare patients for examination; relay instructions to patients and families.
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities such as handling medical records, lab/x-ray reports, and referrals.
• Maintain clean, organized exam/procedure rooms and ensure sterility; adhere to universal precautions.
• Participate in clinic huddles and quality improvement activities.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
