Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Heart Institute on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus. The role involves EKGs, patient education, and close collaboration with cardiologists and APPs in General Cardiology and subspecialties.

Ideal candidates hold an MA certificate and BLS, with 1 year of MA experience preferred. This full-time position offers a day shift, excellent learning opportunities, and a strong team environment within a faith-based health

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
MA certification within 90 days from approved agencies is required.
New graduates: MA program completion or externship hours acceptable.
1 year MA experience or certification within 90 days of hire if experienced.
BLS for Healthcare Providers required at hire.
EMT and CNA certifications do not count toward MA certification.

Responsibilities

Perform EKGs and place heart monitors on patients.
Support surgeons, cardiologists, APPs, PAs, and NPs in General Cardiology and subspecialties.
Complete prior authorizations and patient calls and in-basket tasks.
Develop relationships with physicians and patients; provide compassionate care.
Educate patients on heart monitor use and treatment plans.
