Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join Memorial Katy Cardiology in Houston, TX. This full-time position focuses on patient care within a cardiology practice, with a Monday–Friday schedule and routine duties across the patient care continuum.

Responsibilities include following nursing policies, educating patients on treatment plans and medications, accurate charting, and coordinating with clinicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas LVN license and CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred; cardiology medical office experience desirable.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a health care team member within the scope of the license.
• Implements nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in patient care.
• Instructs patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up by phone.
• Documents accurately in patient charts and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Maintains crash carts, audits medications and defibrillators; completes documentation.
• Handles patient phone calls and coordinates with physicians per protocol.
• Schedules patient visits and coordinates with front office staff.
• Approves pharmacy refills per protocol.
• Cleans/disinfects equipment per protocol and assists with stress tests.
• Initiates training of new LVN team members.
• Reviews PT/INR and pacemaker/defibrillator transmissions; relays urgent messages.
