Inova Health System in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the Cardiology team. This full-time day position runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm and is based at Filagree Ct., Ashburn.

The ideal candidate holds a Vocational/Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing, a Virginia LPN license, and at least 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinic. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required, supporting compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.
• Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital or clinic.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.
