Job summary

Eaton Rapids Medical Center in Michigan seeks a licensed Respiratory Therapist to perform treadmill and pharmacological stress testing, monitor patients, and prepare reports for physician interpretation.

You will oversee EKG monitoring, Holter data, BP measurements, and ensure equipment safety. BLS is required at hire; ACLS within 90 days. A Michigan license or a relevant degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology is required. Experience in stress testing or cardiac rehabilitation is preferred.

Qualifications

Requirements

BLS required upon hire and maintained throughout employment. ACLS required within 90 days of employment and maintained throughout employment. Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan or abachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology. Requires good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide physical assistance to patients when needed. Candidate needs to demonstrate excellent 12 Lead EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills. Previous work experience in stress testing or cardiac rehabilitation is desirable. Minimum one-year experience in exercise physiology preferred.

Summary

Performs basic treadmill and cardiac pharmacological stress testing that analyze how the body responds to exercise, monitoring muscles, chemical reactions, and cardiovascular function. Afterwards, these findings are compiled, and a computer-generated report is given to the physician for interpretation. The exercise physiologist is also responsible for set-up, removal and editing of the EKG tracings for Holter monitoring. This information is then presented in report form to the physician for interpretation.
