Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a PRN Exercise Physiologist for the Cardiac Diagnostic Suite in Grayling, MI. The role involves supporting the GXT lab, performing resting ECGs, Holter scans, and interpreting telemetry with emphasis on patient education and safety.

Required Bachelor of Science in a relevant field; BCLS/ACLS (ACLS preferred, within 90 days); ACSM certification preferred; 1 year cardio-lab testing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Exercise Physiology, Science, Movement Science, Kinesiology or similar.
• ACSM certification preferred; BCLS and ACLS preferred (ACLS within 90 days).
• Completion of ECG interpretation course or competency through staff development.
• One year of prior exercise testing in a Cardiac Diagnostic lab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow lab guidelines for patient assessment, ECG recordings, tests, endpoints and recovery.
• Notify supervising physician of abnormal pre-test conditions or concerns.
• Perform resting 12‑lead ECGs with proper electrode placement.
• Scan Holter monitors and prepare reports for interpretation.
• Monitor and evaluate EKG, Holter, stress tests, Cardiolite, Adenosine, Persantine studies and artifact.
• Provide coverage in Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation and educate patients on exercise and healthy living.

PRN Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Diagnostic Suite

Full-time, Day Shift, PRN. Monday‑Friday as needed.

Location: 1100 Michigan Ave., Grayling, MI.

Responsibilities

• Follow GXT lab guidelines and procedures for patient assessment, preparation, ECG recordings, test performance, test endpoints, and recovery monitoring. Notify the supervising physician of any abnormal pre‑test conditions, abnormalities, or concerns. No stress testing is performed without the supervising physician being in the department and available.
• Perform resting 12‑lead electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement.
• Scan Holter monitors and prepare reports for physician interpretation.
• Monitor and evaluate all tracings, including EKG, Holter, stress exercise/Dobutamine, Cardiolite, Adenosine, and Persantine studies, to determine artifact, dysrhythmia, and/or ST segment changes.
• Provide coverage and relief in Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation as required, including understanding exercise prescription, interpreting telemetry monitors, and providing patient education on exercise and healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Science, Movement Science, Kinesiology, or a similar program.
• American College of Sports Medicine certification preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification (preferred, must be obtained within 90 days of employment).
• Completion of an approved ECG interpretation course or the ability to meet competency through staff development.
• One year of prior exercise testing experience in a Cardiac Diagnostic lab preferred; experience in Cardiac Rehab administering stress testing considered.
