Job summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a skilled technician for the device clinic within the Cardiovascular Medicine ambulatory service. The role monitors patients with implanted cardiac devices, coordinates remote transmissions, educates patients on remote monitoring, and assists RNs and vendor representatives in the clinic.

Responsibilities include scheduling transmissions, troubleshooting connectivity, documenting billing, and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• One year of technical experience as an ECG technician or cardio technician, or the equivalent, is required.
• College-level study of chemistry, anatomy, and physiology is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients with newly implanted cardiac devices in the EHR and device vendor website.
• Provides patients with monitoring equipment and education about setup and transmission to the clinic.
• Schedules remote transmissions from devices to the clinic.
• Receives transmissions, prepares reports for providers, coordinates with RNs, and schedules follow up.
• Troubleshoots missed transmissions with patients and vendors.
• Assists RNs and vendors in clinic appointments as appropriate.
• Ensures follow up recommendations are accomplished.
• Performs trans-telephonic monitoring testing and follows up as appropriate.
• Maintains relationships with local providers for patient transfers.
• Completes billing documentation.
• Participates in orientation and training for new staff.
• Maintains inventory of device monitors, accessories, and education materials.
• Orders supplies for device interrogators and keeps inventory updated.
• Participates in process redesign and improvement strategies.
• Performs other duties as required.
