Job summary

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient cardiology clinic in the St. Matthews area. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow in EPIC.

The role involves scheduling, processing prior authorizations, coordinating tests and procedures, and supporting providers. Upon clinical competency, there may be EKGs, labs, injections, or phlebotomy; this is an on-site,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or MA training program with hands-on patient experience.
• Experience with direct patient care in a clinical setting (vital signs, history, medications).
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history.
• Reconcile medications and manage patient flow in clinic.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; schedule appointments; process prior authorizations.
