Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Cardiology team in the Shelbyville Road area. You will work with physicians to deliver hands-on patient care and support clinical workflows in a bustling primary care setting.

Ideal candidates have MA training with hands-on experience, a strong patient-focused approach, and comfort using EPIC EMR. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires. This position offers growth within a supportive Baptist Health network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of direct patient care experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar setting.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical experience.
• Successful completion of MA orientation and clinical competency assessment.
• Basic computer skills; EPIC or similar EMR experience is a plus.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days for Occupational Medicine positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Obtain vital signs, collect patient history, and reconcile medications.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with patient flow in the clinic.
• Document patient information accurately in the EPIC EMR.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
• Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty procedures.
• Maintain a safe, organized, patient-focused clinical environment.
