Job summary

Avera St. Luke's Hospital is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology Clinic. You will room patients, take vitals, prepare them for physicians and assist during exams, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth patient flow.

You will also perform front office tasks, manage patient charts, triage phone calls, schedule tests and referrals, and collaborate with providers and nurses to support care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience.
• Strong communication and ability to triage and assist providers.
• Preferred: Associate's Medical Assistant degree and medical terminology experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, take vitals, prepare for physician.
• Assist physician during examinations as needed.
• Manage charts and enter results into the EMR.
• Handle phone triage, scheduling, referrals, and communication with patients and families.
• Maintain exam rooms and supply inventory.
