Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced RN/APRN to join the Cardiology team at Oak Lawn. The role focuses on inpatient rounding, ambulatory clinics, and weekend coverage, with acute care certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN and APRN/APRN‑FPA/APNP licenses in state(s) of practice.
• Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
• Active DEA registration prior to hire.
• If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
• Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
• Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and determines treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies and prescriptions.
• Manages conditions with evidence-based care and risk/benefit assessment.
• Provides health promotion and disease management counseling.
• Works within an interdisciplinary team and uses appropriate referrals.
• Maintains accurate EMR documentation and compliant coding/billing.
• Facilitates coordinated care and clear communication among health team.
• Performs office or hospital procedures as privileges allow.
• Participates in quality, safety, and peer review activities and committees.
• Contributes to onboarding and education of new team members.
• Maintains productivity and quality metrics; adapts to growth and changes.
• Delivers age-appropriate care and assesses life-span needs.
