Monument Health Heart & Vascular Institute in Rapid City is looking for a full time Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist.

We are looking to add an outstanding Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to our team of exceptional cardiologists at our nationally awarded cardiovascular program. This position offers you the work-life balance you desire and deserve.

Monument Health's Heart & Vascular Institute has grown into the area’s largest group of cardiovascular specialists providing services to Rapid City and neighboring communities throughout the region. With a team of board‑certified physicians, skilled support staff and excellent facilities, Monument Health's Heart & Vascular Institute is able to offer a full spectrum of cardiovascular care including diagnostic services, cardiovascular research (currently 7 research studies just in heart failure), and a nationally accredited laboratory all in one convenient location. The facilities house two cardiac and vascular surgical suites, two cath labs, and a hybrid suite with state‑of‑the‑art imaging and equipment.

This team of caregivers has been recognized nationally by receiving the 2016 Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center Bronze Plus Recognition and the 2016 National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) ACTION - Registry - GWTG Platinum Performance Awards, for the 4th year in a row - signifying our system is among the best in the nation in following treatment guidelines proven to increase survival rates and reduce readmission rates for heart attack and heart failure. Monument Health's Heart & Vascular Institute is currently working on the AHA heart failure guideline registry, obtained Bronze award in 2025, and is applying for Silver award this year. Rapid City was named top 5 in the country with lowest readmission rates, according to Medicare standards, in Beckers Hospital Review.

The team consists of a Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology physician, a dedicated team of Heart Failure nurse practitioners, Heart Failure outpatient nurses, and an inpatient Heart Failure educator/coordinator that have all completed HFSA courses with the most updated guidelines for heart failure.

We also offer dedicated Heart Failure inpatient services, Heart Failure outpatient services with a very collegial Electrophysiology and/or Structural Heart team (Mitraclip, TAVR, and Triclip), Cardiac MRI, mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, and we are currently in the process of building our own destination therapy LVAD program.
