Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in Des Moines is seeking a Cardiologist to provide consultation and follow-up for Cardiology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings at the VA Medical Center and affiliated clinics. The physician will perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans, leveraging non-invasive imaging and stress testing as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine with LCME/COCA-eligible accreditation.
• Board certification in Cardiology or eligible for certification.
• Experience in inpatient and outpatient Cardiology care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation and treatment for patients with cardiac conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations including history, physical exams, and ordering of labs and tests.
• Expertise in non-invasive cardiology including echocardiography and stress testing.
• May interpret angiography/interventional procedures depending on privileging.
• Collaborate with Cardiology APPs and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care.
