Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Hamilton, NJ is seeking a Cardio Vascular Tech in the Cardiac Catheter Lab. This part-time role supports physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and ensures patient comfort, safety, and privacy throughout care.

You will operate imaging equipment, document procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Minimum education includes a Cardiovascular or Radiology Tech program graduate with RCIS or RAD license and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program.
• Minimum of 6 months clinical experience preferred but not required.
• Current RCIS certification or RAD license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angiograms, angioplasties, and peripheral vascular interventions.
• Preparing patients for cardiovascular procedures by explaining the process, addressing questions, and ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy throughout their care.
• Operating and maintaining specialized cardiovascular imaging and monitoring equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images and procedural data.
• Monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and vital signs during procedures, promptly recognizing and communicating significant changes to the care team.
• Maintaining a sterile procedural environment by following infection prevention protocols and supporting safe, efficient workflow in the cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology laboratory.
• Accurately documenting procedure details, patient assessments, medications, supplies, and equipment usage within the electronic medical record and cardiovascular information systems.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures.
• Performing equipment quality checks, monitoring inventory and procedural supplies, and reporting equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
• Pursuing continued professional development through advanced cardiovascular education, certification opportunities, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth.
