Corewell Health's Progressive Care Unit Cardiothoracic Surgical team at Butterworth in Grand Rapids is hiring a part-time nursing assistant for night shift. You will support post‑operative cardiac and vascular patients, assist with basic care, and collaborate with RNs and providers to maintain safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes bedside patient care, accurate charting, and timely communication of observations. Required: HS diploma and BLS; direct patient care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Preferred: Experience in direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, check blood sugars, perform bed bathing, ambulate, provide wound care, catheterize, and act as a safety attendant for patients.
• Ensure required documentation is accurate and timely.
• Act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care alongside RNs/Providers.
• Perform basic skills per department guidelines and communicate observations to the health‑care team.
• Collect and report physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with the RN or Provider.
