Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. seeks an experienced cardiac sonography professional to perform 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and Doppler studies on adult and geriatric patients. The role includes vascular examinations and ensuring compliance with IAC performance-improvement standards.

The candidate must hold RDCS/ARDMS and at least one additional credential such as RCS/RCCS or ACS, with BLS, and prefer membership in professional societies. Work hours vary, weekend rotation applies.

Qualifications

• Must hold echocardiography credentials (RDCS/ARDMS, RCS/RCCS, CRCS or ACS).
• Additional vascular credentials (RVT/RVS/RS) are desirable.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests and vascular exams on adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains performance improvement documentation in cardiac and ultrasound in accordance with IAC.

Performs 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, cardiac Doppler echocardiography tests and vascular exams on the adult and geriatric patient population. Responsible for maintaining performance improvement documentation in cardiac and ultrasound in accordance with IAC.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• An appropriate credential in echocardiography:
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS), Sonography Canada
• Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

• Additional credential in one of the following:
• Registered Vascular Technologist RVT (ARDMS)
• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through (CCI)
• Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RS) through ARRT

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

PREFERRED

• Membership in professional society or societies related to the field of sonography.
• Graduate of an accredited sonography or cardiovascular technology program.
