Location: University of Oklahoma Medical Center

Shift: Full-Time Days - Rotating Shift, Rotating Weekends, Call required

General Description:

Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects and/or diseases.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, high quality, efficient, and patient-centered care using entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and resources in various care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and outreach clinics.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physicians' ordered procedures.
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Utilize specialized cardiovascular and radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures according to practice guidelines.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure completion, documentation, and quality standards are met.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform quality control, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of equipment as per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
General Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiography program or within six weeks of graduation. Preference for graduates from CAAHEP accredited programs with emphasis in cardiovascular or radiologic technology as defined by ARDMS, ARRT, and/or CCI.

Experience: 0-3 years of experience required.

Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS from the American Heart Association required at hire. Eligibility for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certification in cardiovascular or radiologic technology required within 12 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of cardiovascular and radiologic principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and ethics. Ability to work in a team, follow instructions, maintain accuracy, handle confidential information, and communicate effectively. Must be able to multi-task, stay calm under stress, and demonstrate initiative and professionalism.

Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and core practices related to the primary specialty is essential.
