Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, Florida is seeking an Echocardiography Technician to perform high-quality echocardiograms and vascular studies. You will collect patient history, capture all required views, and input data accurately for physician interpretation.

The role requires RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS or equivalent certification and BLS. Associate's degree in cardiovascular sonography is preferred, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; Field of Study: cardiovascular sonography.
• Work Experience: 1+ relevant experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: RDCS, RVT, RCS or RVS may be required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains a complete patient history for the exam.
• Performs echocardiogram and vascular studies for diagnostic evaluation.
• Obtains required views and inputs notes at exam completion.
• Maintains a clean, organized work environment and ensures safety.

Job Description:

• Obtains a complete and current history of the patient and the reason for the exam.
• Performs quality echocardiogram and vascular studies for adequate diagnostic evaluation by the reading physicians.
• Obtains all views required for processing.
• Inputs notes and history at the completion of the exam.
• Inputs data at the completion of the exam.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
• Checks practitioner orders for accuracy and clarify with offices, floors, or physicians as needed.
• Notifies the floor if the patient has had an echocardiogram within the past six months.
• Utilizes all safety measures provided for the department and individual technologists.
• Always uses two types of patient identifiers, such as name and date of birth.
• Assures proper positioning, technique, and protocol for each exam.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 1+ relevant experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) [Required] OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Required] OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) [Required] OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
