Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a qualified diagnostic ultrasound professional to perform echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures. You will operate ultrasound systems, assess patient body habitus, and document findings with accuracy.

The role requires English proficiency, basic math, and the ability to work independently. Pediatric echocardiography and transesophageal echo skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Operate ultrasound systems and use measurement package to determine anatomy, function, and status.
• Recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology.
• Read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic EKG knowledge.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Work independently with little supervision.
• Address age-appropriate considerations for patient safety.
• Pediatric echocardiography (preferred).
• Transesophageal echocardiography (preferred).
• Knowledge of echocardiography principles.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex imaging studies and assists with a variety of imaging procedures.
• Obains highest quality scans tailored to patient body habitus.
• Adapts procedures to patient’s medical situation and gathers necessary information.
• Enters testing data and patient demographics into records.
• Communicates abnormal findings to reading physicians.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing tasks.
• Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment and transducers.
• Maintains a clean, safe department and inventories supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
