Job summary

Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, ME is seeking a Full Time Ultrasound Technician to perform cardiac ultrasound procedures and deliver high-quality imaging for physician interpretation. Responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment operation and maintenance, documentation, and providing preliminary impressions to aid diagnosis.

Qualifications

• Must have current RDMS or RCS credentials or must be eligible to take RDMS/RCS within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration before and after each exam.
• Accurately completes all necessary documentation and charges in a timely manner.
• Create accurate preliminary impressions based on the findings of the ultrasound examination, providing initial interpretations to assist the physician in diagnosis.
• Review patient history and practitioner orders to ensure the correct imaging procedure is performed.
