Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Cardiac Surgery ranging from $712,244 to $1,028,190. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is recruiting an Academic Cardiac Surgeon to lead our advanced heart failure and MCS program. Join a distinguished cardiovascular team in the Division of Cardiac Surgery. This role is in the (Non-Senate) Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor level.
The Division of Cardiac Surgery is a vital part of UC Irvine's comprehensive cardiovascular program, aiming to deliver top-tier care using modern surgical techniques and collaborating closely with cardiology and vascular surgery. The program performs all adult cardiac surgeries, including coronary, valvular, aortic, arrhythmia surgeries (both open and minimally invasive), and advanced heart failure procedures like surgical Impella and HM3 LVADs. The program is expanding its advanced heart failure and MCS services, with active structural heart and TEVAR programs, supported by a dedicated team including four APPs and a 24/7 in-house CVICU team. UC Irvine is the only academic tertiary care center in Orange County managing complex cardiac cases from the region.
