UVA Health is seeking a cardiac transition nurse to join a dynamic, multi-environment unit in Charlottesville. This role blends hands-on patient care with procedural exposure and cross-team coordination, expanding experience beyond traditional unit-based nursing.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of cardiac or related experience, a BSN within five years, and Virginia RN licensure with BLS. The position offers growth, Magnet-recognized culture, and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia; AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for pre-procedure, recovery, and transition phases of cardiac care.
• Support cardiology procedures such as cardioversion and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
• Assist with ICPC workflows, coordinating patients transitioning to inpatient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, high-variability environment with shifting assignments based on patient needs.
• Build new competencies through cross-training in advanced cardiac and procedural techniques.
