Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Test Technician II for our Mounds View, MN facility to support the Mechanical Test and Analysis Lab focused on leads, catheters, devices and instruments for cardiac pacing therapies.

You will follow test methods, assist in developing new test methods, present findings to peers and managers, and help guide junior technicians to meet milestones. On-site work four days a week with travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of lead and catheter design, processing and material testing, including fatigue.
• Hands-on familiarity with TA Instruments and Instron fatigue test frames.
• Familiarity with FDA and MDR regulations.
• Knowledge to maintain PCs running test equipment and installing drivers.

Responsibilities

• Follow test method instructions in preparing test samples, conducting a test, and exporting results involving leads, catheters, and cardiac devices.
• Support development of new test methods, measurement techniques, and fixtures.
• Organize, prepare, and present technical information to peers, engineers and management.
• Direct the activities of junior technicians to ensure project milestones are completed on schedule.
• Coordinate and execute test equipment calibrations, repairs and troubleshooting.
• Manage basic lab functions including materials and equipment procurement, lab layout and facilities supply.
• Be responsive to changes in work direction and develop creative plans for meeting milestones.
