Job summary

Meadville Medical Center is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician for the Cardiac Unit on a per-diem basis. The role is on-site in Meadville, PA, and involves patient monitoring, rhythm interpretation, lead placement, and reporting changes to nursing staff.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, with EMT/CNA/CMA preferred, plus strong communication and medical terminology knowledge. BLS/PALS/ACLS certifications are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• EMT, Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in data entry or typing preferred.
• Fluent knowledge of medical terminology.
• Current BLS, PALS and ACLS Healthcare Provider card.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient monitoring support and direct patient care.
• Maintain records and documents of cardiac rhythm for nursing staff.
• Observe and interpret cardiac rhythm of patients.
• Post and interpret rhythm strips at regular intervals.
• Perform lead placement on patients.
• Report any changes in latest and previous strips to nurse.
• Recognize and respond to abnormal patient condition.
• Clean medical equipment after each patient use.
• Validate and test medical equipment for any problems.
• Report monitoring equipment repairs in timely manner.
• Maintain medical supplies and equipment needed to provide patient monitoring.
• Train new staff on operation of monitoring system.
• Deliver quality patient care services in timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain clean and safe work area.
