Job summary

St. Elizabeth HealthCare seeks a Telemetry Technician to monitor and interpret ECG rhythms from a centralized Telemetry unit.

The role requires maintaining alarm integrity, escalating rhythm changes to bedside nurses, and ensuring accurate EHR entry during 24-hour shifts. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of telemetry or acute care experience, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of SEH/SEP ECG training with high proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Complete SEH/SEP ECG class and pass exam yearly minimum score of 85% and 100% on lethal arrhythmias.
• 1 year of applicable experience; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret ECG rhythms.
• Oversee and communicate cardiac patterns on telemetric devices.
• Ensure complete and accurate information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Document irregular rhythms and monitor heartbeat changes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
• Contribute to protocol development and quality assurance activities.
• Process admissions, transfers, and discharge orders.
• Assist in orientation of new telemetry staff.
