Job summary

RMH Reynolds Memorial Hospital is seeking a Telemetry Technician to monitor cardiac rhythms for telemetry and hard-wire patients, identify rhythm changes, and communicate findings to the medical team.

The role includes ECG interpretation, uploading data to EPIC, Pulse Oximetry monitoring, and handling routine clerical tasks to support unit operations. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Obtain Heartsaver or Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac monitoring for telemetry and hard-wire monitored patients and reports rhythm changes.
• Analyzes ECG strips and documents patient rhythm changes per guidelines.
• Uploads rhythms/events to EPIC using Wave Strip Export.
• Monitors pulse oximetry for assigned patients and verifies Admissions/Discharges/Transfers in Epic.
• Assembles telemetry packs and ensures inventory of supplies.
• Troubleshoots equipment with biomedical engineering and nurse manager as needed.
• Greets patients on arrival and handles routine unit clerical tasks.
• Maintains patient and department records for accurate documentation.
• Coordinates intradepartmental/interdepartmental communication and transports as required.
• Responds to information requests about patient or department routines in line with policy.
