Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to provide continuous observation and interpretation of patient cardiac rhythms, and to maintain telemetry records and accurate documentation across units.

Shifts are 12 hours, including every third weekend. The role operates under RN supervision, coordinating with the cardiology team to support safe patient care and timely reporting of rhythm changes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant experience or related healthcare education with arrhythmia interpretation.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Functions under RN supervision interpreting, documenting and reporting cardiac rhythms, and maintaining monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
• Maintain and review telemetry records and ensure system functionality.
• Communicate findings to nursing staff and physicians as needed.
