Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Unit. The role supports Cardiac, Observation, and Neuro patients with a 24-bed unit and 7am–7pm shifts. Eligible candidates will have RN licensure, BLS, and prefer experience in cardiac care. A competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the team to influence outcomes.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation and adheres to safety and ethical standards.
• May float to other units or facilities as needed to meet patient care needs.
