Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
• RN licensure in Alabama or Compact State licensure required.
• BCLS certification obtained within 30 days required.
• NIH stroke scale certification obtained within 30 days required.
• ACLS certification preferred; substitution of education/experience allowed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry rhythms and recognize abnormalities.
• Administer cardiac medications safely and monitor for adverse effects.
• Ensure telemetry orders are current and communicate rhythm changes.
• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and create care plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, disease processes, and monitoring.
• Act as charge nurse when assigned and supervise care provided by staff.
